Somebody that I Used to Know

One of the most interesting songs I've heard recently was Gotye's "Somebody that I used to know" featuring Kimbra. The song is a mid-tempo indie pop song and tells about a relationship that gone bad. There are many songs like that but there's an amazing difference here: the other part replies the broken heart argument...  he is sad but she is sad too (what makes the song maybe perfect). What about the video?

Gotye and Kimbra by Ellen Schebor

The lyrics are amazing and when Kimbra sings the female's part you can really feel what she means, the relationship has really gone bad and both can't recognize each other anymore. And the video tries to show this through images. First you got Gotye apparently nude in an uncolored place, then you have colors painting him and the wall. While the guy lived in this minimalist place the girl was there and was painted in a similar way.

As the time passes and the song comes to its end, she starts to lose her colors and voice after singing her part. The male character stays alone in a place that was supposed to belong to both but they can't be there anymore, but he stays for a while, maybe stuck to his remembrances, he is happy that everything is finished, though he can't forget it or accept how she treats him now...

P.s.: According to MTV1 through its "Find out the sample" Gotye sampled a song by the Brazilian singer-songwriter Luiz Bonfá. The amazing acoustic guitar hook is from the Bonfá's song Seville... Impressive!
